Birch class really showed off their super knowledge about plants, when they went on a plant hunt around the school grounds this week. They had to look closely, as some of the plants looked very similar at first and a few were tricky to find, but they now know their ceanothus from their rosemary and their camellia buds from apple blossom!
The marigolds were easy to spot at the edge of the path!
We loved the feel of these leaves!
The broom bush proved tricky to find!
We loved the smell of the mint.
This plant proved quite tricky to find!
We found lots of primroses growing near the fishpond.
We wanted to know how long it would be before we could pick apples from our apple trees.
They described and compared different plants and came up with different questions about plants which they want to find out about this term. Next week we are going to plant some of our Superbloom seeds. If you have any bedding plants or perennials spare over the coming weeks, we would love to take them off your hands!
