Weekly News 16.12.22

Hello everyone,

Well…what a wonderful end to the term it has been!

Our children have shown off their many talents in our various performances: Early Years musical performance in our school hall, and our KS1 Nativity (Present for the Baby) and KS2 Carol Service in Bicton Church. It has meant so much to us being able to perform in front of an audience this year, rather than via video as we have had to do over the past couple of years.

Thank you to everyone who has come along to watch the children’s performances!

Thank you FOBS

On behalf of all our children and staff, I would like to say a huge thank you to FOBS for their amazing efforts this term. The movie night, Christmas raffle, selection boxes, and breakfast with Santa, as well as sweet sales after school, have raised over £1000 in recent weeks! Thank you to everyone who has supported their fund-raising efforts.

Reporting absences and urgent messages:

We cannot guarantee that teachers will have the opportunity to check Class Dojo at certain times so please do not use it to report your child’s absence from school.  The procedure should always be to telephone the school office and leave a message.

Similarly, if your child has different collection arrangements after school, please inform the school office.

Availability of staff

Teachers will endeavour to respond to a Class Dojo message within 24 hours of receiving it but all staff have their Class Dojo apps set to “Quiet hours” which means they will not receive messages after 5.00pm or before 8.00am and not at all at weekends.

And finally…

We return to school on Wednesday 4th January. I hope you all have a very peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year and I wish you all the very best for 2023.

With much love,

Mrs Johnson x

Shrewsbury Food Bank donations

Thank you for all the donations for the Shrewsbury Food Bank, which I will be delivering to them on Monday morning.

Winter Water Safety

Given the tragic events at the weekend and the forecasted continued colder weather as we head into the Christmas holidays, Shropshire Fire and Rescue would like to highlight the attached resources and websites.  We have shared the key messages with each class in school this week, and KS2 children have been reminded in assembly this afternoon.

Parenting Course

Parenting course

The Parenting Team will be trialling a new and exciting 4 week workshop – Working on your relationship. Please see attached poster below with further information.

The workshop aims to help parents/carers to reflect on and make positive changes within their relationship, if this might be having a negative impact on their children at present.
