Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

We have had a very busy first week back at school after the half term break! It has been wonderful to see the children coming back to school refreshed and ready to learn.  Please go onto your child’s class page on the website to see their learning over the coming half term.

A few reminders:

  • Please ensure Chester Zoo payments are made by the end of the day.  We require all children to wear school uniform and trainers/comfortable shoes.  We will be outside most of the day so please bring a coat, a packed lunch, drink and snack.
  • Please do not park in the minibus bay at the beginning or end of the school day as it prevents the children being able to get on and off the bus safely.
  • A big thank you to the parents/carers who have found the time to fill in our survey.  Your feedback is very important to us and we would appreciate your responses and comments – positives included!  Please follow the link and complete the survey by Sunday evening: Parent Survey

It was lovely to welcome so many Willow parents/carers to lunch on Wednesday. It is Birch Class’ turn this week so please let the office know if you intend to attend on Wednesday 13th November (12pm).

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Mavin

Staffing Updates

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Erasmus and her husband welcomed a baby boy safely into the world on Sunday.  Baby Otto is doing well at home and we send them all our love at this joyful time.

We are sad to share that Mrs Thomas will be leaving us at Christmas.  Mrs Thomas has been at Bicton for almost 15 years and we would like to thank her for the hard work and dedication she has shown in her role.  We are currently recruiting for a class teacher for Birch and we will inform Birch parents of the successful appointment at the earliest opportunity.

Odd Socks Day

On Tuesday 12th November we will be marking Anti-Bullying week with an ‘Odd Socks Day’!  All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks to school, it couldn’t be simpler!  You do not have to donate money to take part – the most important thing is the message of Odd Socks Day.  This Anti-Bullying Week’s theme is let’s ‘Choose Respect’ and bring an end to bullying which negatively impacts millions of young lives.
This year, we’ll empower children and young people to not resort to bullying, even when we disagree and remind adults to lead by example, online and offline.  Imagine a world where respect and kindness thrives — it’s not just a dream, it’s in the choices we make. Join us this Anti-Bullying Week and commit to ‘Choose Respect’. What will you choose?
