Head of School Message

We’ve had another busy week here in school and the children are very much into the swing of the new school year.  We have had a number of parents who are considering places for their children in September 2025 looking around our school and it has been wonderful to hear such positive comments about the nurturing environment we provide.

Our Worship Council held their first meeting next week which was a training session on how to run their own whole school worship.  They will be planning and delivering a worship every half term which is a nerve-wracking experience but a very important one for our oldest children as they prepare for life beyond Bicton.  We also welcomed Reverend Hannah for our first Open the Book worship of the new school year.

We are setting up a number of new pupil councils this year for pupils from Year 1 – Year 6.  There will be some ‘homework’ going home over the next week where children will be asked to submit applications for the councils they are interested in joining.

Gardening Morning – Saturday 12th October

We are in desperate need of some willing volunteers to help us cut back and tidy up our forest school area so that the space can be fully used and enjoyed.  If you would like to help, please bring along some gardening equipment (wheelbarrows, pruning shears etc!) from 9am on the 12th October.  FOBs will be providing bacon baps, teas and coffees!

Friends of Bicton

We are on the look out for parents/carers to join our Friends of Bicton team!

Friends of Bicton School (FOBS) is a registered charity (No. 1093376) run by volunteers to raise valuable funds that benefit the school and nursery.  This can be helping to organise an event, run a stall, or by simply coming along to support one of our functions. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents and help contribute towards resources and facilities to benefit your child or children during their time at Bicton CE Primary School and Nursery.

We would like to invite you to a tea/coffee social morning on Friday 27th September from 9am to come and find out a bit more about how you could help.

If you are not able to attend but are still interested in joining, please contact Sam Horton on 07816226774.
