2017-2018 School Council
Well done to all the children who put themselves forward to be on this year’s School Council. Staff were amazed at some of the children’s speeches and the thought and effort which had been put into them.
The children who were elected to be part of the School Council had their first meeting on 17.11.17 with Mrs Foster. Everyone introduced themselves and chose their badges. Older children then shared the ‘best bits’ of their election speeches and younger children shared what they were most looking forward to about being part of the School Council.
2016-2017 Activities
Our School Council had a very busy year during 2016-2017. Â Classes 1 to 4 had two representatives and Class 5 had four representatives on the Council. Â The children were voted for by other children in their class, after giving a speech about why they are the ‘right person for the job!’
Some of the School Council’s activities in 2016-2017 are shown below.
- Visit to the Bicton Heath Co-op, whom we have extremely strong links with, to learn about stock control;
- Working with our Reverend and staff to collate responses from the whole-school to create a new school motto;
- Organising a whole-school assembly to present our new motto ‘Learning for a Lifetime‘;
- Attending the annual Safer School meeting to provide a pupil voice in decision-making.
