indoor PE fun

 

Class 1, practised their balance and movement skills today. They had to collect treasure, cross perilous rivers and navigate high bridges!

Phonics this week

Over the last few days the children have looked at , listened to and written – ‘b’  ‘f’   ‘e’

When we write ‘b’ we say, ‘Down the laces, then over the toes.’  For ‘f’ we say ‘Down the stem and across the leaf.’  For ‘e’ we say ‘lift off the top and scoop out the egg.’

Balance bike lesson

The children had a go on our new balance bikes today, they had fun walking the bikes and trying different steps.

Singing in phonics

Today the children looked at the sound ‘u’ and practised writing it.  When writing ‘u’ we say – ‘ down and under, up to the top and down to draw the puddle.’

We then sang our ‘u’ song and recorded it to show our Mums and Dads.

Baking bread

Today Class 1 baked bread, just like the Little Red Hen did in the story.

Class 1, School council elections

The voting was very close, and well done to all of our candidates.  The 2 children who had slightly more votes were:   Matilda and Arley.

Phonics

This week Class 1 have looked at the sounds – g   o   c   k  .  They have practised saying the sounds and writing them.

For ‘g’ we say ‘ Around the girl’s face, down her hair and give her a curl.’

For ‘o’ we ‘All around the orange.’

For ‘c’ we say ‘Curl around the caterpillar.’

For ‘k’ we say ‘Down the kangaroo’s body, up his tail and down his leg.’

The children also practise writing their names on a daily basis, you can support them at home by encouraging your child to paint / chalk / write their names on steamed windows.

 

 

 

Open the book

Some of the children in Class 1 helped to act out today’s Bible story.  They had to be the River Jordan.

Gracie got to blow out the candle at the end.
