pattern and symmetry

This week we have continued to look at patterns and symmetry.  We linked some our work to some of the creatures that we saw at Chester Zoo.  The children had a go at making symmetrical butterflies, just like the ones that we saw and adding pattern blocks to make the animal shapes.

We have also looked at the Festival of Diwali and the children have created symmetrical mandalas and added mendi patterns to their hand outlines.

Here is the symmetry game the children have played this week –  https://www.topmarks.co.uk/symmetry/symmetry-matching
