Bag2School – 26th June

We have arranged a Bag2School collection for Wednesday 26th June, if you want to start collecting clothes, shoes, etc, that you want to get rid of!

Please do not bring any bags to school before that date though , as we do not have anywhere to store them.

Thank you

Weekly News 10.05.24

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your understanding around the cancellation of today’s swimming session for Years 3 and 4, which was due to the closure of the pool at Oswestry Leisure Centre.  Mrs Jones will speak to the Centre next week, to see if there is availability for fitting in a session elsewhere. If this isn’t possible, the cost of the missed session will be refunded to your sQuid account.

Good luck Year 6s

As some of you may be aware, Year 6 children will be completing their KS2 SATs next week. They have worked extremely hard in preparation for this and we are very proud of each and every one of them! Thank you Year 6 parents for all the support you have given your child.

NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND

This is a polite reminder that DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED on the playground at any time. If you do need to bring your dog onto the school site at the end of the school day, when collecting your child/children, you must stay at the front of the school on the car park and dogs MUST be on a lead and under adult control at all times. Failure to adhere to this request could affect the safety of children and other adults coming onto site. Thank you.

Have a good weekend,

Mrs Johnson

Forest Church on Sunday

Dear Friends,

We are very much looking forward to a woodland Forest Church on Sunday- 3pm, Beam House, Little Ensdon, SY4 1EP (by kind permission of the Holbrook family). We will be going to a beautiful patch of wild woodland, so trousers are highly recommended as there are plenty of thriving nettles. Do bring a packed tea- we will provide drinks at the end (cold ones if we discover ourselves in summer, hot ones if not!). There is a walk through a field to the woodland, but we do also have a ‘taxi’ by way of a 4×4 truck for those who require it. Please leave dogs at home this time- there are badgers and rabbits living in the woods. We may also have time just to admire the traditional farmyard buildings- a rare survivor from a bygone age!
Directions
Whilst it is possible to get to Beam House by taking the Little Ensdon turning off the A5 and then bearing left at the fork in the lane, we don’t recommend this route as the turn is on a blind corner, and therefore very dangerous. Instead, we suggest:
Coming from Montford Bridge: drive up Forton Bank and turn left at Dobsons Corner as if going to Adcote School.

Coming from Fitz/ Leaton: drive through Forton Heath and then turn right at Dobsons Corner as if going to Adcote School.

Drive along, going straight past the staggered junction to Ensdon on the left and Broomfields on the right. Continue forward to the next crossroads which is signed Ensdon and Nescliffe (This sign is difficult to read coming from Forton Bank). Turn left at this crossroad and you will probably see Nibbs Heath pond on your right. Continue along this lane towards the A5 for 0.7 of a mile until you come to a sharp bend (the lane is very narrow in places). Turn right here. There will be a bungalow on your left. Continue past that and up the drive, and park at the big barn.

There will be a couple of signs out towards the end of the journey.

We’re very much looking forward to seeing you!

With blessings,

Hannah x
