Class 5 Celebration Assembly

For Celebration Assembly next Friday, please could children in Class 5 wear something colourful or something blue, green or yellow to represent the colours of the Brazilian flag. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to me or send a message in with your child.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Photoclub at the Church

We took advantage of the drier weather to go down to the Church last week.  It always provides lots of photo opportunities with interesting stonework, plants and details as well as scenic possibilities.  We all had fun and the kids took some super shots.

Congratulations to Ernie for winning our club medal for the second week in a row.  Ernie has good control of his camera and many of his ideas translate into excellent images.

I hope the sunshine continues!

Dodgeball Tournament

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 children who represented Bicton at The Corbet last Thursday. They played brilliantly and came joint second overall. This is the first dodgeball tournament to be held there for local primary schools and we will definitely be entering again next year!

Photoclub get snapping

After a foggy start, the sun came out for Photoclub this week and Ernie, Ava and Ella were able to get outside to take photos in good light for a change.  They had a great time concentrating on man-made objects thinking about colour and shape for close up shots.  All the kids have a good eye for interesting objects and just need a little practise at knowing the limits of how close their camera lens can focus and holding the camera steady enough to avoid camera shake blur.

Well done Ernie for winning last week’s medal.  Ernie took an exceptional variety of striking nature close ups in our forest school area.  Keep it up Ernie!

Year 6 Parents – SATs Meeting

Year 6 parents are invited to an informal SATS meeting on Monday 17th March at 3:20 in Class 5. I will provide an overview of SATs week, discuss ways in which you can continue to support your child with SATs preparation and answer any questions you may have. Year 6 children are encouraged to attend as well and should you have difficulty in childcare for younger siblings please do not hesitate to speak to me beforehand; I am sure another member of staff would be happy to help out on this occasion and keep an eye on younger children whilst the meeting takes place, if you feel that they may not want to join us in Class 5!

Thank you.

Mrs Johnson

Photoclub welcomes the sun!

In the last couple of weeks the weather has improved and we have finally been able to get outside with the cameras.  The kids have been having a go at photographing nature, concentrating on the varied shapes and textures in the forest school area.  It just shows you don’t need summer flowers to get pretty shots outside.

Year 6 Booster

Just to confirm, Year 6 Booster is on Thursday this week from 3:15 – 4:30.

Many thanks.
