Class 4 homework to be handed in on Wednesday 11th May

In science, children have been learning about animals and their different diets and have been identifying whether animals are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores.  Their homework this week is to choose 4 animals from the list given on their sheet to research.  They will need to find out what their chosen animals eat and imagine they are zoo keepers who need to order food for their chosen animals for a week!  We have also given the children a list of suggested websites to use for their research.  If they don’t have access to a computer at home, they can research using books or ask to use the school laptops at break or lunchtime.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask one of us in Class 4,

Many thanks for your support,

Mrs S Foster

Class 4 Homework

This week we would like the children to complete a postcard from somewhere they have visited recently.

We would like the children who went on the residential to write a postcard from Condover.

Children need to draw and colour a picture on the front and then write the postcard to someone they know on the back.

Please ask if you require any further explanation.

Class 4 Homework

This week the children have been looking at equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions. For homework, we would like the children to practise simplifying using the online game:

http://www.iboard.co.uk/iwb/Simplifying-Fractions-Game-366

The game firstly asks for the highest common factor (the highest number that can divide into the number on the top and bottom of the fraction) and then children need to divide the top and bottom number by the number they have selected to give them the simplified fraction.

When children have done this they can have a go at simplifying fractions on the worksheet using the same method.

Please ask if anything requires further explanation. Children are welcome to use the school computers at break time if they are unable to access the game at home.

Please note, the link to the worksheet also contains the answers (for parents eyes only!!) Yellow group can choose either worksheet to complete.

Open The Book

Thank you to Mary-Lou and the Open the Book volunteers who visited school to lead a wonderful assembly about Palm Sunday.  The children enjoyed taking on different parts in the Bible story and all were presented with a palm cross at the end of worship.
