Class 4 Update

English

The children are reading to the end of our novel study ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ now.  They have written biographies of Kensuke’s life this week.  Next week they will be exploring the main themes in the story and doing some essay writing based on this.

Maths

The children have studied line graphs and presenting and interpreting data this week.  They are now looking at using decimal numbers accurately within measures.

Geography

The children had lots of fun building coastal landscapes using Modroc plaster this week.  Next week they will be finishing and painting these to put on display.

We are all looking forward to our visit to Carding Mill Valley next week to learn more about rivers and living things in their habitats.

Class 4 Homework

Class 4 will be bringing home a new piece of homework today based on our learning on using data.  We have been interpreting data using graphs, and creating some of our own in class.  Please encourage your child to complete their homework as independently as possible.

This homework is due back on Monday 10th July.

Oswestry School Science Day

We had a brilliant time at Oswestry School for a Science in Sport day.  The children were, as always, a credit to Bicton with their excellent behaviour and manners.

Arthog Thank You

Thank you to all the children who went to Arthog for what was a fabulous long weekend. The children’s behaviour was some of the best we have ever experienced and as for their effort and perseverance … they should all feel very proud of themselves for what they achieved. It was genuinely an absolute pleasure to be away with them and they did Bicton proud!

We will upload the rest of the many photos taken, over the next couple of days.

Oswestry School Science Day

Just a reminder that it is the Oswestry School Science Day tomorrow for the 5 Year 5 children who have been chosen from Class 4.

Children need to ensure they have a jumper/cardigan with them and a coat if it is bad weather.  Lunch will be provided by Oswestry School.

We will be leaving school at 9.00am sharp and returning by 3.15pm.

Saturday at Arthog – Mrs Walton’s group

Mrs Walton’s group – Dan, Harry, Luka, Sophie, Dayna, Isabella, Izzy and Toni –  had a full day of water activities with lots of happy faces, as you can see from the photos!
