Class 4 Half Term Homework

Half Term Homework – Due in Friday 5th June 2015

The first week back after half term is Healthy Eating Week. With this in mind, I would like you to do some homework linked to this.

You can choose to do one of the options from the list below (you only have to do one but you are welcome to do more if you wish)!

Make sure you bring your homework into school by Friday 5th June as we may present our homework to one another.

Cookery

Design a healthy meal and cook it with help from   your grown ups. Remember to stay safe in the kitchen. Make a menu for your   guests and serve their food to them at the table. You can bring the menu you   have made into school. Don’t forget to wash up afterwards!

Music/dance

Write and perform a rap   about healthy eating. You could even think of some dance moves to go with it!

Writing

Write a food diary over   one week. Remember to record everything you eat and drink!

ICT

Make a short presentation about your favourite   healthy foods.

Question

Should junk foods be   banned for all children? You could write your answer in sentences or draw it   in a cartoon.

NSPCC Sponsored Event

Children listened fantastically in the NSPCC assemblies on Monday morning and may have already mentioned the “Buddy’s Big Workout” sponsored event to you.  We will be running the sponsored activities in school the first week back after half term; these will involve children taking part in fun physical activities, such as obstacle courses, in their P.E lessons.

Children will be bringing home a letter and an activity booklet/sponsor form on Tuesday.  If you have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to speak to me.

Many thanks.

Class 4 Homework – Due in Friday 15th May 2015

We have been learning all about the General Election this week. In class you have created your own ‘manifesto’ of what you would pledge to do if you became Prime Minister (I have attached this to this sheet to help you). Your task is to create a campaign poster, persuading people to vote for you.

You may like to include:

  • What you plan to do if you become Prime Minister.
  • Reasons why these are good ideas.
  • The logo for your party.
  • Persuasive Language – ‘must’ ‘need to’ etc.
  • Bright colours to make it eye-catching.

You may use the piece of paper provided to create your poster or you can create it on the computer.

Persuade me to vote for you!

Class 4’s General Election

Yesterday in Class 4 we learned all about the general election and the different parties and people representing them. We split the class into groups and each group represented one of the parties and had to try and persuade the rest of the class to vote for them. We then each visited the polling booth and cast our votes. There was a tie with Green Party and The Conservatives receiving the most votes!
