Class 2 Buddy’s Workout Challenge

On Tuesday afternoon, during PE, Class 2 completed their Buddy workout challenge. They had a circuit to complete that consisted of lots of different stations e.g. skipping, star jumps, step ups etc and had 2/3 minutes at each station. The children really enjoyed themselves!

Making balanced meals out of salt dough

For Healthy Eating Week, we started by looking at the different food groups, carbohydrates, fibre, fats, vitamins and minerals and proteins. We then talked about a balanced meal. The children have started to make a meal out of salt dough to paint later on in the week.

Class 2 – Science lesson

Yesterday, we decided to take our Science lesson outdoors and make the most of the lovely sunshine. We spent our time outside reception, on the field, the forest area and searching on the playgrounds looking at all the lovely flowers and drawing them. We then went inside to label our drawings, flower, stem, leaves and roots.

Welcome back class 2

It was lovely to have class 2 back today and hear all about their wonderful holidays! In literacy we discussed our holidays and then did some writing remembering to include adjectives and conjunctions to make our writing more interesting.

This afternoon we went on a Spring hunt, it was a nice introduction to our Science topic ‘plants’. The children enjoyed searching for daffodils, nests, insects, and squirrels and used a checklist to help them.

Just a reminder that class 2 PE lessons will be on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Please can all children have their PE kits in school everyday, with outdoor shoes as we will be making the most of the warmer weather.

Thank you for your support
