Hello everyone,
I hope you’ve had a good week and are keeping well. I’d like to thank you for your support in helping keep our pupils and staff safe by keeping your child at home if they are unwell and arranging a PCR test where needed. Please see a reminder below of what you need to do if a member of your household tests positive for coronavirus.
Confirmatory PCR tests
Pupils with a positive lateral flow result should self-isolate in line with the stay at home guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. and they will need to get a free PCR test to check if they have COVID-19.
All household contacts of a confirmed case (PCR positive) should undertake a PCR test, regardless of whether they have symptoms. Whilst awaiting the PCR result, the individual should continue to self-isolate and nursery and school pupils should stay at home and not attend until a negative PCR is returned.
Booking children into clubs
Please make sure you use the sQuid booking system, if you need your child to stay to after-school clubs. If they are not booked in via sQuid, there may not be places or staff available.
COVID-19 information from Shropshire Council
If someone is told by NHS Test and Trace Service that they must self-isolate and stay at home, they may be eligible for a £500 grant to help them financially during their isolation period.
There are other things Shropshire Council with as well during isolation. If someone needs to isolate due to Covid, call Shropshire Council as soon as you can on their Covid Helpline 0345 678 9028 for more information.
As furlough is ending, and fuel and food prices are increasing, this will mean that more Shropshire residents will be facing financial difficulty.
This is a reminder that the Council has funding available to help the most vulnerable of Shropshire’s households with their essential expenses over the coming months. This is regardless of whether they have been advised to self-isolate.
If someone you know is having difficulty meeting outgoings, or there is risk to their home, please ask them to call the Welfare Support Team on 0345 678 9078 (option 2 for our application line).
The advisers answering this phone line will take the initial application and may also point people in the direction of other help and advice that’s available. After that, a specialist adviser will deal with the application, including gathering any further supporting information we may need to help us to make our decision.
People don’t need to be getting benefits in order to qualify. Each application will be looked at on its merits and will take all their circumstances into account, including any other money they may have available to them.
Have a good weekend.
Mrs Johnson x
