Good morning Class 2!

I hope that you are all keeping well.

Today is the day that we start to welcome back some children from Year 1, so I thought that it might be nice to change things a little. If your child is still at home, I thought it would be nice that if they do a piece of writing and they would like the children who are in school to see it, you could please take a photo of it and email it to me. I will then show the piece of work to the children the next day. It’s such a bizarre time and I think that this would be a nice chance for the children to still feel connected to each other.

Please let me know if I can ever help you in any way. My email is: Class2@Bicton.shropshire.sch.uk

Have a good week!

Mr Taylor

Here is your home learning this week, with a musical theme!

Hopefully you’ve all had a chance to watch the video that Mrs Johnson has uploaded onto the main news feed.  If you haven’t, please have a look as it has important information about the arrangements for the wider opening of school.

I am so excited to welcome some of you back next Monday, I hope you’re looking forward to coming back to school! Those Year 6’s who aren’t returning, watch out for website posts/emails about transition to the Corbet.  We will be doing a virtual meeting with some members of staff so I will be contacting you about that over the next week if you will be attending the Corbet.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and are keeping safe.

Miss Carr

Watch the Movie ‘The Snail and the Whale

Understanding of the World

Find out about snails, whales and other creatures shown in the book. Where do they live? What do they eat?

·         Snail PowerPoint

·         Watch Andy’s Safari Adventures with Humpback Whales

Take your child on a snail hunt around the garden. Can they think about the places a snail might want to live?

Show your child a picture of a sea snail. Ask, how is it different buy cheap tramadol from the snails they found in the garden?

Make a snail house

Snail Enclosure

·         Watch this video.  Create a simple under the sea obstacle course or draw an obstacle course on a piece of paper.  Children have to guide an under-water robot (Parent/sibling/toy) through the obstacles by shouting out simple instructions.  E.g. forwards, right, left, backwards.

Expressive Art and Design

·         Draw / paint  your own seaside picture

·         Draw / paint a picture of what lives under the sea

·         Make your own crafty Snail and Whale –

·         Listen and sing along to the song ‘The Snail and the Whale’ with Author Julia Donaldson

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

·         Even though the snail is small, he helps to save the whale. Think about your abilities. Is there anything that you thought you couldn’t do, but you managed to when you tried?

Physical Development

·

·         Norris The Baby Sea horse – Cosmic Yoga

·         Ocean Movement Cards

Home learning ideas, week beginning 8.6.2020 – The Snail and the Whale

Hello Class 1 Children, Mums and Dads,

once again thank you very much for all the lovely updates you have added. They always put a big smile onto my face.
I hope you enjoyed doing some of the Superworm activities, the  Key worker children in class certainly enjoyed our wormy tasks!
This week the main story is ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. There is a lovely movie of the story to watch to start the week off.  The planning document is now on Tapestry.

Read Write inc – The Keyworker children who have been in class, are watching the New Set 2 sound and Spelling videos this week (Rosie has changed the words to read and spell). They have also watched Red Words 1.  If you are watching the Red Word videos, I would recommend writing the words covered onto paper and practising them over the week.

I hope you all have a super week,

take care and stay safe,
Mrs Bowes xx

Hi everyone

At last I’ve got around to creating a video to say hello and to show you what school looks like at the moment for those children who are returning over the next couple of weeks. Apologies for getting a touch of the giggles part of the way through!

Love

Corbet Year 6s – tutor groups

Hi Year 6s

I hope you saw my email yesterday asking you to let me know the names of the children you would like to be with when you join The Corbet School. I uploaded a PDF version of the form by mistake meaning you can’t type into it so you can either email me the names instead or print it, write the names on the form then email me a photo if it.

If you have any questions just let me know.

Take care

Mrs Johnson  x
