Welcome back 02.09.2020

Hello everyone

We have had an amazing first day back!

It has been so wonderful to see our children back in school and nursery and to see and hear them running around on the playground having fun with their friends.  All of our new children seem to have settled in really well and several have introduced themselves to me at their classroom doors!

Social distancing and drop off

Please can we remind parents to arrive at their drop off place at their allocated time and not to arrive too early.  We know it was the first day back today but several parents arrived too early – this meant other parents had to push past to drop their child off if their allocated arrival time was earlier. We have worked really hard to put measures in place to keep everyone safe so we ask that everyone does their bit to keep all of our children, staff and families safe.

PE days

Teachers will let you know which day your child needs to come to school wearing PE kit. Please don’t panic if you see other children coming in wearing PE kit as your child will be told in due course.

School bags etc

We had a few questions today about whether children need to bring a school bag. They only need to bring a water bottle, packed lunch (unless they are school dinners), a snack for morning break, a coat, their reading book and reading record book so a large bag is not needed.

Take care

Mrs Johnson

* Reminders for returning to school *

Hello everyone

We are really looking forward to seeing the children tomorrow and I just wanted to remind everyone of some important information for this week.

Drop off and collection

Please adhere to your child’s allocated time and entry/exit point – signs will be displayed on the car park to help direct families to the correct place.

School dinners

The cost of school lunch has increased to £2.30 per day.  Please send cash or a cheque into school/nursery in an envelope marked clearly with your child’s name and the amount.

Water bottles

Children must bring a water bottle with their name written on and they will bring this home at the end of every day to be washed.

Quarantine after holiday

If you have returned from a country abroad which requires you to quarantine, your child must not return to school or nursery until the end of the quarantine period. We all have a duty to keep other children and staff, (and their families) safe and we thank you for adhering to this.

Home-link books

Home-link communcation books will not be used for the near future. If you need to get a message to your child’s teacher, please email the school office at admin@bicton.shropshire.sch.uk.

Take care and see you tomorrow!

Leaving gift

The children who were in school managed to receive their leaving gifts yesterday from myself and Mrs Allen, but I wanted to make sure that those children who haven’t been able to come back to school don’t feel left out.

I have attached a Bitmoji version of our class to this post, so please feel free to download and print it yourself at home! We weren’t able to have a class photo this year, so this is hopefully the next best thing!

Thank so much for all of the lovely messages and gifts which have been sent this week. It really does mean a lot! It has been a real privilege to have been able to teach your children in Class 2.

Thank you once again for all of your support over the past few months.

I hope you all have a great Summer holiday!

Best wishes,

Mr Taylor and Mrs Allen
