Celebration assembly

Thank you to those that have brought in costumes for the celebration assembly on Thursday. If you haven’t already brought a costume in can you please bring it it tomorrow.

Many thanks,

Class 4 weekly update

English: The children have completed assessments in english (writing and reading) this week.  They have worked hard on these – well done!

Maths: They have been converting units of time (years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes) and looking at timetables. They have also completed a maths assessment.

DT/Art: They have been making Greek head dresses for the celebration assembly next week which look great!  In DT they have been looking at Greek food and what they ate in Ancient Greek times.  Next week the children will be tasting some Greek food and designing and making their own flatbread with a twist.

Science: They have been doing work on light and how it travels.  The children had lots of interesting discussion about this.

There will be no spellings or homework for next week.

Please could all children keep practising the song and dance for celebration assembly next week.  I have been really impressed by how quickly they have learnt all the lines by heart and they all sound wonderful!  Thank you for all your hard work so far with this.

Please could you bring in Greek toga style costumes by Monday for the assembly.  As mentioned in the letter a white sheet with something to tie around the waist will be perfect, or even a large white shirt/tshirt.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Thomas

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

We had a brilliant time yesterday at the Discovery Centre and the children enjoyed pond dipping, habitat trails, and bug hunting.

Arthog Meeting – Friday 22nd June 2:30pm

We will be holding a parents’/guardians’ meeting on Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm, where we will provide further information and answer any questions you have about our forthcoming visit to Arthog.  The kit list will be sent home prior to the meeting. If you have any questions, and are unable to attend, please do not hesitate to speak to me. Thank you.

Class 4 Visit to Secret Hills

The children have all been told but, just in case the message did not reach you, they need to wear their school t-shirt and school sweatshirt/cardigan for their trip on Monday.  They may wear leggings/jogging bottoms/tracksuit bottoms etc.

Thank you

Class 4 homework

Apologies for the confusion of homework set this week…the homework that was set before half term is due in tomorrow please.  Many have handed this in already, thank you. The play script homework that was set on Monday is due in next Wednesday (March 7th).  If there are any questions about this or you need a copy please ask me. In future, homework will be set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday as usual.

I also asked the children if they have a copy of their favourite book at home if they could bring it in tomorrow please for World Book Day. Please don’t worry if they don’t have one.

Many thanks, Mrs Thomas

Please can children be at school for 5.30 on Thursday and, if you are not coming to watch the concert, children can be collected at 7.30 pm.  The Hall will be open from 5.30 and FOBs will be serving refreshments before the concert and during the interval.
