School Photographs – New date – Wednesday 7th July

We have re-scheduled a new date with the school photographer –  Wednesday 7th July (AM).

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we will not be able to allow younger/older siblings, who do not attend either Bicton School or Nursery. There is no need to bring your child earlier than normal if they already attend school or nursery, as staff will take them to the Hall to have their photos taken.

All children will have their photographs taken, individually and in their class groups, unless you tell us otherwise.

Supporting Families Eligible for Free School Meals

Information received from Severn Trent Water.

Hello, by way of introduction my name is Ellie and I work for the charity, Severn Trent Trust Fund.

In partnership with Severn Trent we are supporting their customers who are finding it difficult to manage their household bills and we would like to make them aware of the Big Difference Scheme.

We know that this level of saving can make a massive difference to a household budget, and this is why we are contacting you – the families who you support through income based free school meals are likely to also be eligible for the Big Difference Scheme.

We have successfully approved 12,443 Big Difference Scheme applications from April 2020 to February 2021.

Please visit our website www.sttf.org.uk for more info, you can also find us on Facebook: @The BigDifferenceSchemeSTTF. Please see leaflet below.

Year 6 – School Transport for September 2021

Any parents/carers of year 6 pupils, who wish to apply for free school transport for their child/children from September 2021, should do so before 31st May 2021. Applications can be made online at www.shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone with the Council’s Customer Service Team by calling 0345 6789008. Alternatively, should you require a paper copy of the application form, please do not hesitate to contact the school or Passenger Transport directly via email, schooltransport@shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone on the above telephone number. It is important to explain that, if the application is not received by 31st May 2021, the Authority may be unable to provide transport for the beginning of the autumn term 2021 and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements. Access to school transport is not permitted until entitlement has been confirmed.

Red Nose Day – Friday 19th March

This Friday 19th March is Red Nose Day.  Children are invited to come to school wearing something Red or something that makes them happy!

We ask children NOT to bring Red Noses this year

To avoid any cash donations coming into school, we have set up a JustGiving page instead. If you are able to make £1.00 donation that would be great. The link to the JustGiving page is:

Thank you in advance for your support.
