Head of School Message

Dear parents/carers,

Wow! What a busy week!

We have had bowling trips, nativities, pantomimes, Father Christmas visits, choir and handbells performances and everything else in between in the last few days and we are so grateful for all of your support in helping make these events a success.

Mrs Jones’ Christmas shop has raised over £550 for school so a huge thank you to her for her amazing organisation and giving the children an opportunity to choose gifts for their loved ones.

The pantomime trip on Wednesday was a fantastic experience for all the children and they thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing along, making more noise than the other schools put together!

Reminders for next week:

SUNDAY 14th 5pm – Bicton Church Carol Concert

MONDAY 15th/TUESDAY 16th – Choir and Handbells trips

WEDNESDAY 17th 6.30pm – KS2 Carol Concert. All children in school uniform with festive headwear! Please park at the school or the Village Hall – not on Bicton Lane.

THURSDAY 18th – Christmas outfit/ Christmas Dinner/ Christmas party day! Collection from the Hall door at 4.45pm

FRIDAY 19th – Last day of term!

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Mavin

FOBs News!

Hello from FOBS,
We had a great time at the Christmas fayre in the village and raised £52.50p towards our goal. Thank you for all those who visited us and bought something and to the children for making us laugh with jokes!
We have our Christmas party on 18th December. Please note that there is ONE WEEK left to buy tickets (from school reception). We have to have this deadline to enable volunteers to prepare for the party and do all shopping so we need. Tickets will not be available after 12th December.  Please see the poster for details.
We have also tried to write a document that you can talk through with your child (or children) if they have any questions about the disco – see here: Christmas party info for children 2025. We hope this helps.
Please contact us on our Facebook page if you have any questions.

Dear parents/carers,

As November draws to a close, we wanted to share some exciting updates and reminders:

🌍 Travel Tracking Has Restarted!
Miss Robinson from Living Streets came to relaunch our active travel tracking initiative this week.  I know our school isn’t best placed for walking to but it’s been great to see lots of children tracking their ‘park and stride’ journeys from the village hall. They are working hard towards earning their badges and we thank you for your support in this.

New heights for Isaac!

Isaac has achieved level 1 rock climbing award this Friday and has really enjoying learning how to tie a rope and fasten it for safety, complete routes on the indoor climbing wall and started to learn how to belay another climber on the tall walls and make sure the other climber is safe and secure.

Well done Isaac!

Experience Church

Year 5 and 6 were invited to spend the morning at Bicton Church on Thursday by Reverend Hannah and her team of volunteers! The children had a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable morning looking at different aspects of a Church building and how they are used in Worship. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers for giving the children such a warm welcome.
