Foster carers needed to help local vulnerable children and young people
Nexus Fostering, based in Telford, is a local fostering agency supporting and training foster carers to help and care for local children that are unable to live with their birth families. They have asked schools to share the following message:
“At Nexus Fostering based in Telford, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01952916002 or email Lisa Hall on lisah@nexusfostering.co.uk.”

FREE NSPCC online workshop for parents and carers about keeping children safe when gaming
We are all aware that Online Gaming is a concern for many of us as professionals, but also for parents/carers who can often feel unsure of how to have conversations with their child around this topic to keep them safe.
This year, the NSPCC launches its first Game Safe Festival. We’re bringing together key players to make sure children have positive gaming experiences. And we’re helping the adults in their lives have the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to help keep children safe when they game. The free workshop will take place on Zoom on Wednesday 7 February 2024, 7-8pm.
See the flyer below which provides information about the session and how to register for it.
