30.09.22 Perfect end to the week

Hello everyone,

We have had another really good week in school and nursery and we ended the week with a visit from a theatre company. The children’s behaviour was amazing and, as you can imagine, they were very excited! The actors commented on how wonderful our children are, which makes us very proud. 🙂 We thought we’d share a few photos of the Jungle Book performance with you.

Dementia-friendly School

We are proud to be working in partnership with the Diocese of Lichfield and Holy Trinity Church, Bicton, in becoming a dementia-friendly school.

Our aim is to support all in our school community (pupils, staff and families):

  • to be aware of dementia and to understand how to stay in step as patterns change through advancing dementia.
  • affected by dementia to be welcomed, understood, respected and supported.

Our 2022-2023 School Action Plan:

1. Work with the local church to help develop awareness within our local community

2. Lead worship to inform our school community about dementia

3. Develop links with Isle Court Nursing Home

NSPCC Speak Out. Stay Safe

Well done to all the children for their response to our recent NSPCC assemblies and workshops. We are proud to receive our Speak Out. Stay Safe certificate for participating in the initiative, and helping safegaurd our pupils.

Dinner Money

Can parents please check their child’s catering purse in sQuid. There are a number of children that have a negative balance.

Christmas Shoebox Appeal – Teams4u

We are pleased to be taking part in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal run by the charity Teams4u. Your youngest child in school brought a leaflet home a couple of weeks ago. The project is being lead in school by Cerys in Year 5, as part of her Brownie charity badge, and she has asked for any shoe boxes brought in to be left at the school office – thank you for the ones brought in already. Click here for more information on the Shoebox Appeal.

Shropshire Music Service – Lessons

In school we are pleased to be working with Shropshire Music Service to offer small-group and individual lessons on Keyboard, Violin, Brass and Drums. Shropshire Music Service are a non-profit council organisation dedicated to providing high quality music education for the county’s young people.  The lessons are not free, but substantial reductions in the cost are available for those in challenging financial circumstances. SMS also offer affordable instrument hire for most instruments, along with opportunities to perform in musical groups.  You can enrol your children using this link, or search Shropshire Music Service to find out more.
